Google has come up with a new feature in their search – Google +1. The whole idea of this new feature is to help others surfers to find better and popular results in Google while searching. By clicking the +1 button, you actually make a suggestion on some particular page or on a particular product that you are viewing. When you do this on some page or product, others will able to see that how many people have +1’d it and at the time if you are logged in than even you will able to see the +1’s done by your friends.

While the Like button of Facebook lets the user to share the content with friends. As soon as the user clicks the Like button on your site, the story will appear in the user’s friends News feed with your site link. The Google +1 button looks like it has been duplicated from Facebook Like button in the design but if you compare the functionalities than it is not same. But the whole idea behind both features is to make the sharing easier of popular information and stories to make the experience more interactive.

The Google +1 feature does draw upon a user specific network but it does not have the same social association as Facebook network. The reason why so many people are active regularly on Facebook is because they can easily share and post the content to the wall of their friends.

To see all these interactions you need to have a Facebook account but unlike Google +1 you can create a Facebook account using any kind of email address.
